Who is Kilic Arslan? (1079 - 13 July 1107) was the son of Kutalmışoğlu Süleyman Shah, the founder of the Anatolian Seljuk State, and the second Anatolian Seljuk sultan.
After being defeated in the I. Crusade and having to hand over the capital Iznik to Byzantium, he stopped the Crusades with his successes against three different Crusader armies in the 1101 Crusade; He ensured that the road from Istanbul to Syria was closed to both Byzantine and Crusader armies.
While trying to cross the Habur Stream, he drowned on 14 June 1107 due to the weight of his and his horse's armor.
